Explore the Outdoors in Hico, Texas

Explore the outdoors in historic Hico, Texas. Hico is situated at the top of the Texas hill country, making it perfect for hunting, fishing, and exploring the great outdoors. Hico is home to many game ranches, including Sierra Mesa Ranch, where you can bag a trophy whitetail deer, blackbuck or turkey. In addition, the Hico City ParkΒ spreads across 43 acres and includes three covered pavilions, RV spaces, picnic areas, restrooms with shower facilities, a volleyball court, two playgrounds and a horseshoe area. It also includes over one mile of paved hike and bike trails along the tree-lined, north bank of the Bosque River, two baseball/softball fields, one T-ball/youth field, a large soccer field, a concession stand and an aquatic splash pad.

For the biking enthusiast, Gravel Locos is a gravel biking community with three bike race routes starting right here in Hico, Texas. Join them on May 22, 2021 in downtown Hico, Texas.

If shooting is more your style, Hico has Texas Ordnance Depot, a gun range and shop offering events and classes from top instructors.
