Situated on the corner of Highway 6 and Pecan Street, Jersey Lilly’s has been a mainstay in Hico for more than 20 years. Travelers and locals alike enjoy the two story restaurant with a second floor patio overlooking downtown. Sip on margaritas or beer from the bar, and enjoy fresh tacos, enchiladas or fajitas. Down the road, you’ll find Mi Jalisco Mexican Restaurant, offering fresh handmade tortillas, street tacos, fajitas, churros and more. After breakfast, browse the art gallery in the back, or grab something to-go from the local food market, featuring Armagh Creamery Organic Yogurt, Chapman 3C beef, or soda from nearby Dublin Bottling Works.
REACH FOR THE STARS AT SILOVILLE
If you’re in the mood for a little adventure, visit Siloville Climbing Gym for a one-of-a-kind climbing experience. The climbing gym is housed in a converted grain silo with climbing inside and outside. Test your strength and agility on the obstacle course and low ropes course or take a trip on the zip line.
GET AWAY FROM IT ALL
Or if you’re looking for some peaceful solitude, visit the Hico Walking Trail, next door to Siloville. Take a leisurely stroll on the tree-lined walking trail that meanders along the Bosque River, or read a book at one of the many covered tables overlooking the river.

Lunch time is the best time, and for an authentic Texas lunch, stop by Eis for sandwiches, like the smoked chicken salad on jalapeno sourdough bread, or grab a fresh salad with green leaf lettuce and fresh veggies. Take a walk down to Pecan Street for more shopping fun at Blue Star Trading, where you can browse local handmade jewelry, home decor, ranch goods, men’s and women’s clothing, and more. Taking a walk through the limestone building is like stepping back in time, and you can do just that at the Hico Retrospective Museum, upstairs in Blue Star Trading. Historical Hico photographs, artifacts and more are on display. The museum also doubles as a space for hosting events.

Just a short walk across the street from Blue Star, sip on Texas wines from Silver Spur Winery. Stop in for a wine tasting or grab a few bottles of award winning premium dry wines to enjoy at home.

A trip to Hico isn’t complete without dinner and drinks at The Midland Hotel and Chop House. The historic Midland Hotel is a 14 room hotel in downtown Hico, Texas, built in the 1890’s and beautifully restored in 2014. The hotel houses The Chop House restaurant and 1896 Saloon, serving modern Texas cuisine including fresh fish, steaks, housemade pasta and salads along with craft cocktails and an extensive beer and wine list. The local shop is thoughtfully designed with original hardwood floors, shiplap, multiple fireplaces, and multiple seating areas that encourage you to sit and stay awhile.
