FOOD
Buzzed Brumby
Stop by Buzzed Brumby in Historic Downtown Hico, Texas for wood fired pizza, breakfast (including a can’t miss toasted bagel with avocado, bacon, and egg), and cold or hot coffee.
Jersey Lilly’s Mexican Restaurant
Hico is full of great restaurants where you’ll find anything from local farm-to-table cuisine to wood-fired pizza, fresh baked goods and more. When it comes to Tex-Mex, Hico has four great options, including Mi Jalisco, Lenchaz Taqueria, Don Julio Mexican Restaurant, and Jersey Lilly’s.
At Lilly’s, as the locals call it, grab a seat at the bar, upstairs at the cantina, or snag a booth and order a few appetizers for the table, including Mexican street corn, fresh made guacamole, or satisfying queso. For your entrees, it’s hard to go wrong. With a selection of Tex-Mex favorites like tacos, enchiladas and fajitas, and updated American dishes, there is surely to be something for every palate at Lilly’s.
Oma Leen’s
Hico is buzzing about the long awaited opening of Oma Leen’s from Chefs Shannon and Austin Odom. In a previous life, Oma Leen’s was a wonderful restaurant in nearby Walnut Springs, but the Odom’s decided to move their operation to Hico, and we sure are happy they did! In the time that Oma Leen’s has been closed, they opened a new wood-fired pizza joint in Hico, the beloved BarbaCelli’s, where you can get fresh salads, sandwiches, pizza, wings, and more.
Oma Leen’s is passionate about all things hospitality, food, and serving others. Austin and Shannon take cooking to the next level with their take on New American cuisine, where they make pasta (and most everything else) from scratch daily. In addition to the road-trip worthy food, Oma Leen’s offers a beverage program with amazing drinks using high quality liquors and unique concepts.
Opening November/December 2023.
