2023 Texas Steak Cookoff
The 2023 Annual Texas Steak Cookoff in Hico, Texas is a one-of-a-kind experience. Join us on Saturday, May 20th where backyard and professional chefs from all over the Southwest will compete for a cash prize and the title of “The Best Steak in Texas”. Cookoff ticket holders can then have a steak prepared to order by the cook of their choice. And be sure to join us for live music, food vendors, shopping, appetizers, a corn hole tournament, wine tasting and beer garden.

TICKET OPTIONS
DINNER TICKET – $45
Includes:
- A wristband that allows you to sample any of the appetizers being cooked by the chefs from 10:00 am to 1 pm or whenever they run out.
- A 12-ounce rib-eye steak dinner with all the fixin’s. The serving lines for the dinner open at 5:00 pm and you can select your favorite backyard chef to prepare your steak!
- A chance to win several door prizes offered throughout the day.
APPETIZER TICKET – $20
Includes:
- A wristband that allows you to sample any of the appetizers being cooked by the chefs from 10:00 am to 1 pm or whenever they run out.
WINE TASTING – $30
Includes:
- The Wine Tasting Event at the 20th Annual Texas Steak Cookoff will feature a wide variety of Texas wines, from sweet and fruity to dry and full-bodied. You’re invited to come, experiment, and see for yourself what has made Texas wineries so popular in recent years. No previous wine knowledge required – only an adventurous attitude! Everyone (21 years or older) is invited to participate.
- The Wine Tasting will be held from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm in downtown Hico, the epicenter of the cookoff. The cost of $30 includes a commemorative Texas Steak Cookoff wine glass and the opportunity to talk with winery owners and Texas wine-makers. You will have the opportunity to purchase wine directly from the wineries, either by the glass, bottle or case.
VIP DINNER TICKET – $150
Includes:
- Come and enjoy your exceptional catered steak dinner. Dinner this year will be located at HiCo Hall. Steak dinner, wine, and dessert are included in your $150 ticket price. As a bonus, you’ll receive an appetizer wristband that allows you to walk around and enjoy appetizers from our steak cooks and a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of several prizes throughout the day. All proceeds from the VIP dinner will go to Hico’s community organizations. VIP Tickets are limited, so secure your spot today!
